How do I exit full screen mode in AnyDesk?

Honestly, I’m surprised neither @mikeappsreviewer nor @boswandelaar mentioned the nuclear option: just kill the process. I know, sounds extreme, but when you’re actually, truly locked in and nothing works (hovering, magic key presses, incantations, ritual sacrifices), just hit Ctrl+Shift+Esc, pop open Task Manager, and end AnyDesk. Done. You’ll lose the current session, sure, but at least you have control back instead of living a fullscreen horror movie.

One more thing—sometimes AnyDesk’s settings actually let you tweak the “show toolbar in fullscreen” option. Dig into the settings (when not trapped like a rat), and under Display or User Interface, make sure the toolbar isn’t set to auto-hide forever. YMMV but worth a shot.

Also, can we talk about the irony? Remote desktop apps are meant to give you access and you end up needing detective skills to exit fullscreen… Classic. And shout out to everyone here fast-tapping Windows keys like they’re inputting cheat codes—tried and true.

TLDR: If all else fails, kill AnyDesk from Task Manager and set that interface to show the toolbar, because a remote session shouldn’t feel like an escape room.
